Actually, it’s a little cloudy and hazy out there, but this photo makes me think of all the sun we’ve had this summer.

Before I was a child photographer, I spent quite a bit of time photographing flowers and random nature items. Although I always enjoyed it and made due with the small amount of equipment at my disposal, nothing compares to having a great macro lens. Add a fun special effects lens on top of that, and a whole new world opens up when looking at flowers through your view finder.

Hopefully my mother in law won’t read my blog between now and Mother’s Day, because the surprise would be ruined. She planted these beautiful tulips in our yard and my macro lens just drew me into them. The color was absolutely incredible.
