One of the wonderful things about my job is being able to watch families grow and change and really get to know them over time. I first photographed this family when little C was still in her mommy’s tummy. Luckily, they signed up for my baby plan and we have had many sessions together since then. I noticed that the more that I see families, the better I get to know them and the children, the more relaxed everyone is during the session. The more relaxed everyone is, the more fun everyone has and the more magical the photos are in the end. See for yourself!
I love the family sessions where I’m able to capture that spark, that connection and give a glimpse into how their life might be at that moment in time. As a mom, I know that feeling of always having a child hanging on my body. If I sit, he sits on my lap, if I walk by, he wants me to pick him up and carry him from place to place, when we are together and walking, he is holding my hand. That’s one of the reasons that I love this first photo so much. I love how mom is surrounded and covered in her children. One day all too soon, they grow up and we will long for these days!
I first photographed this handsome little guy when he was 3 months old and again at about 8 months old. He’s always been one of my favorites because of his big eyes and long eyelashes and easy smiles. He’s about a year and a half old now and is such an absolute cutie! I even convinced his beautiful mommy to be in a few of the shots. Sweet interactions with mommy and daddy are the photos that he will one day cherish the most.
Although the weather has not been something to write home about this spring, we were able to catch a beautiful day last month of these photos. It gives me hope that summer may actually find us soon!

I know most people wrinkle their nose at the sight of dandelions, especially when they are found in your front yard. But mix a 3 year old with a dandelion and you have art! He was huffing and puffing and trying to blow it away but it just wouldn’t budge. He’ll get it eventually!
