For this session, I made my way to Tualatin, Oregon. It was a beautiful spring day (the kind we could all use more of), and all of the trees and flowers were just starting to bloom. When I entered their home, I was delighted to find some of the most colorful decorating I have seen. This mom knew how to use color to brighten up a room. We had fun playing outside and playing in the kids’ rooms, and I was able to capture many wonderful photographs.
One of my favorites is this first one which while it is a very unconventional family portrait, I just love the connection that it portrays between them all.

What could be more fun!
It took them a little bit to warm up but once they did, they were full of giggles.

This little one definitely stole my heart. She has the sweetest dispostion and is just so adorable. Our first session together, she fell down and hurt her lip but when we met up again, she was the perfect little model. Just look at those eyes!

Mom ordered a canvas of this shot and I can’t wait until she sees how beautiful it turned out.

I can honestly say that I love what I do and every session has something magical and fun, but some sessions are magical from beginning to end. The lighting is perfect, the kids are gorgeous and sweet and fun, the setting is beautiful, the parents are laid back and trust in my work. I usually know when things are going this well, but it’s not until I get home and go through the images that I see how truly magical it was.
This was one of those sessions…

I say it time and again…my favorite age to photograph is between 6 - 9 months old. I like when they can sit up sturdy but can’t yet crawl away. They are usually very happy and smiley at this age and just fun fun fun!
This little sweetie was teething but still managed to look adorable.
