Ooooh this little baby was so sweet and such a beautiful little girl. I thought she looked a lot like her mommy. Most babies at this age have a difficult time focusing their eyes, let alone making eye contact with me. This sweetheart did with no problem and it made for some gorgeous baby portraits.

A few weeks ago, I met up with a family in a nearby Portland park. I had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest little baby girl. This little sweetheart was so full of smiles and she really gave it her all!
I loved the adorable pose of half on her tummy and half on her side, and look at those chunky thighs! Before you know it, this chunk is only a memory in a photograph.
It was such a treat for me when we arrived at the bench to see it overgrown with the most delicate white flowers to match such a beautiful baby girl. This is when the art just flows from the natural surroundings without even trying, you just look and there it is. You may remember seeing macro shots of these particular flowers from an earlier post.
This summer I have photographed more newborns than ever before! I’m certainly not complaining. Everyone knows how much I love the sweet, scrunchy little babies. I’m just amazed at all the beautiful babies being born each day and honored that I have been able to meet so many of them.
For this session, I drove just a little bit north to Camas Washington. It’s a pleasant drive and I was very happy to meet such a sweet and beautiful baby and his wonderful family.
For those who are considering newborn portraits or who have already scheduled a newborn session with me and are just waiting for the arrival, I cannot stress enough how important it is to call me as soon after your baby’s birth as possible! The first week is that magical time when we are able to capture the sweet, sleepy, scrunchy baby photos. It’s amazing how under the right conditions and with careful preparation, they will sleep and allow me to pose them so that we can capture beautiful shots such as these.
This is baby number 2 for this wonderful Portland family. They were quickly discovering that life with 2 is a whole lot different than life with only 1, but wow is it worth the effort. Just look at this gorgeous little man!
A few weeks ago, I met a sweet family who were obviously so in love with their adorable son. Mom told me ahead of time that this little cutie was a serious little baby and not to expect many smiles. He started out as serious as could be, but once we got down to just having some fun, singing itsy bitsy spider, flying high in the sky and riding on mom’s legs, his smiles just couldn’t be contained!
