Newborn Baby Photography

I remember the first time I held my son as a newborn baby. I shed tears at the sheer perfection of this new life in my arms. The delicate paper thin skin…the crinkly eyes…the pouty pink lips…and those hands and feet! The first thing I did was count the fingers and toes…absolutely perfect miniatures…down to the last detail. Were all infants so exquisite? My heart swelled and my eyes filled up and the lump in my throat hurt when I swallowed…that was the happiest moment of my life and I never wanted to forget it.

I understand how precious those moments are, how transitory they are…moments that we try to cling to in our memories. None of us want to forget those moments when the baby seems to sleep all the time and we just hold our breaths, waiting for those eyes to open. And those wonderful, wonderful scents of baby talc and cream all mixed up with those little stretches and curled up fingers and the sleepy nuzzles. Not to forget the sudden high pitched cry and the little face turning a bright pink when hunger strikes. And finally, a satisfied slurp and the contented silence…and all is right with the world.
